About this event
It’s estimated that 1 in 2 people in the UK will have cancer in their lives. In Liverpool, cancer remains our biggest cause of death, and the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted and increased the health inequalities which contribute to these figures, and has led to ‘missing’ diagnoses and treatment delay.
Many kinds of professionals work in Liverpool’s cancer services; tackling the causes and symptoms of cancer, and supporting our population through detection, screening, clinical interventions and treatment, community based support, advice, information and advocacy, recovery support, or end of life care.
Join us for this free two-hour webinar which will give you an opportunity to meet some of these professionals, and to find out about their work and the challenges they’re currently facing. You’ll also be able to ask questions on the day via the webinar's Q&A function or submit questions in advance when your booking is confirmed.
The professional panel will include representatives from:
- Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Trust (The Royal/Aintree/Broadgreen/Linda McCartney Centre)
- Clatterbridge Cancer Centre
- Liverpool Women’s Hospital
- Macmillan Cancer Support
- Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance
- Liverpool Sunflowers
- Citizens Advice Liverpool
