Changes to Liverpool’s walk-in centre opening times

Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust, which operates the city's four NHS walk-in centres, has announced changes to opening times.

Currently, walk-in centres all operate different hours, with some opening at 7am and closing at 10pm, and others operating between 8am and 8pm.

From 18 December 2017, the opening hours will be standardised, with all four walk-in centres opening between 8.00am and 8.00pm.

No appointment is required to attend one of the walk-in centres, which are also open on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and other bank holidays.

Liverpool's NHS walk-in centre locations are:

  • Old Swan NHS Walk-in Centre (Crystal Close, St Oswald St, Olds Swan, L13 2GA)
  • Liverpool City Centre NHS Walk-in Centre (6 David Lewis Street, Liverpool, L1 4AP)
  • South Liverpool NHS Walk-in Centre (Church Road, Garston, L19 2LW)
  • Smithdown Children's NHS Walk-in Centre (for 0-15s) (Smithdown Road, L15 2LF)

Walk-in centres offer treatment and/or advice for minor illnesses and injuries. In addition, all GP practices in Liverpool are contactable between 8am and 6.30pm, Monday to Friday. For urgent advice from a GP between 6.30pm and 8am, at weekends, or on a bank holiday, you can call NHS 111, who can refer you to a local out-of-hours GP if needed.

Let us know if you have any feedback on the changes.
