Life Story Network have been commissioned to support the Dementia Action Alliance Liverpool and Liverpool Clinical Commissioning Group to refresh local dementia strategy.

As part of this work they are developing a collaborative approach to co-designing short
breaks services with people living with dementia, carers and professionals. They want people living with dementia and carers to contribute to this process by taking part in a one day workshop.

At the workshop they will explore what a good model of short term breaks, that provides a positive experience for the person with dementia as well as the carer, would look like. The outputs from the workshop will be included in the Liverpool Dementia Strategy refresh.

Where and when?

Monday 15th October 2018
10:00 - 16:00
Brain Charity, Norton Street, Liverpool, L3 8LR

Why?

The aims of the workshop are:

  • To establish the current lived experience of short breaks services for people with dementia and carers
  • To offer the opportunity for people with dementia, carers and professionals, including commissioners and providers to come together and to identify gaps in service and any barriers to access
  • To contribute to Liverpool Dementia Strategy refresh driven by what matters to people with dementia and carers
