Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital Listening Event Report - December 2022

Find out what patients and visitors told us when we visited Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital in December 2022.

On 8th December 2022 we held a Listening Event at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital (LHCH). This is the first time we have conducted a Listening Event at the Trust since before the Covid-19 pandemic started.

The aim of the day was to speak to as many patients and visitors as possible to gather feedback about the hospital. We wanted to find out what patients think is good and what needs improving about the hospital. On the day, our staff visited as many different areas of the hospital as possible to speak to people about their experiences.

We spoke to 45 people in total. Their feedback was mostly positive. Some people did tell us they did not think the signage around the hospital was easy to understand. Some people also thought the food could be better.

  • 95% of people we spoke to said they would rate the hospital as either 4 or 5 stars out of 5.
  • 88% of people said they felt staff had enough time to spend with them and other patients.
  • 84% of people said they were given enough information about their treatment by the hospital
  • 80% of people we spoke to made positive comments about the hospital overall, including the quality of care, staff, and the efficiency of the hospital overall
