Here are just some of the ways you can get involved as a volunteer:

  • Promotion and engagement - Be an ambassador, raising awareness about what we do at Healthwatch Liverpool by connecting with people at local events and within your own community. The more people know about us the more confident they’ll feel about sharing their stories with us.

  • Listening to people and recording what they think - Gathering information about patient’s experiences helps us build a picture of what care looks like locally, identify any gaps in services, challenge poor practice and shine a light on good practice.

  • Visiting care homes – assist staff in visiting care homes to speak to residents, family members and staff about the care provided, the environment and facilities. We share our findings with the care home highlighting areas of good practice and recommendations for improvements.

  • Reviewing information and keeping it up to date – assist our Information workers by contacting health and social care services by telephone and email to ensure the information we hold on our online directory is accurate.

  • IT and administration – providing office based support such as overseeing online questionnaires, preparing promotional materials and packs for events, gathering and evaluating information and report writing.

  • Sharing your experience and knowledge - Your experience of health & social care services will help us to ensure we are saying the right things on behalf of Liverpool residents and may encourage others to share their experiences too.
